Texas Tech University Personal Financial Planning

The Personal Financial Planning Program at Texas Tech offers a B.S., a M.S., and a Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning, all registered programs with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. Three dual degrees are offered: JD/MS in PFP, MBA/MS in PFP, and MS Tax/MS PFP, along with graduate certificates in Personal Financial Planning and Charitable Financial Planning. The department also hosts a Personal Finance program with courses that meet the financial literacy needs of students. Undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. student enrollments are approximately 200, 120, and 45, respectively. The faculty includes 13 full-time graduate faculty members and two instructors. Students take classes and study in the 4,200 square foot Charles Schwab/PFP Technology Complex. Additional initiatives of the PFP department include The Center for Financial Responsibility, offering research and outreach opportunities for the financial planning faculty and graduate students, and the Retirement Planning & Living Cluster, focusing on research and outreach related to the financial, psychological, social, cognitive, and physical transitions related to retirement. The PFP department will be looking to hire a Professor of Practice and an Assistant/Associate Professor to begin in Fall 2019.
